Skåne hembygdsförbund is an umbrella organization for the Skåne homestead movement. Among the association’s 100 member associations are local history societies, associations of museums, local historical associations, village committees and the like. It manages and displays about 180 older buildings, including several museums. The union also has individual members.

Skåne hembygdsförbund organizes courses and theme days for member associations. Cooperation with schools is a priority activity and several member organizations offer tours, time travel and practical activities for school groups.

Together welcomes the Skåne hembygdsförbund over 900 000 visitors every year!

Skåne hembygdsförbund has a humanistic and democratic approach. It is open to everyone, regardless of background. It respects the cultural heritage diverse forms across time and space (the Sverige hembygdsförbund ethos, adopted in 2007).
