EXPEDITIO Centre for Sustainable Spatial Development is a non-governmental and non-profit organization seated in Kotor, Montenegro.
EXPEDITIO mission is to encourage sustainable spatial development in Montenegro and the SEE region through activity in the fields of sustainable architecture, cultural heritage, urban planning and through projects that encourage the overall civil society development.
EXPEDITIO was founded in 1997 by six students at their final year at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade with the view of enhancing architectural and visual surroundings in our region.
Today, the organization has about 400 members and has conducted numerous projects addressing different problems of sustainable spatial development.
The activities of EXPEDITIO are conducted through four sectors: cultural heritage, sustainable architecture, spatial planning and public advocacy. Through these fields of activity, EXPEDITIO is especially concernedabout space and its protection and management.
For a certain period now EXPEDITIO has been dealing with the topic of cultural landscape. Through various activities it implements the organization is trying to raise awareness of the importance of and encourage protection, management and planning of cultural landscape and public participation in that field.
