The “Deutsche Sektion des europäischen Verbandes für den ländlichen Raum e. V.” (German Section of the European Association the rural areas e. V.) of ECOVAST was founded in 1988 and in April 2008 celebrating its 20-year anniversary.
It currently has 53 individual members to come to 8 clubs and institutions. Most individuals contribute also in regional committees, which for strengthening rural use.

The members of the German Section are also members of the European Union.
